On May 3, 2025, 11:30 am EDT, Democratic Women’s Club of Palm Beach County presents a Zoom meeting
“Building Community Through Resistance:...
Democratic Women's Club of PB County, Indivisibles & Diaspora Resistencia invite you to a peaceful May Day Strong Protest and Food Drive in West Palm Beach!
When: Thursday May 1, 4:00 to 6:30 pm
Where: The 4 corners of Okeechobee Blvd and Military Trail, (GPS= 2077 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach) on the sidewalk.
Parking: Parking lots at local businesses at the intersection, or the big one just west of the NW corner.
Why bring food? Friends have told us the US Dept of Agriculture surplus food deliveries to Southeast Florida have been cut to 1/4 of the previous amount. Farmers are suffering and food banks are empty.
Safety: This is a VERY busy, highly visible intersection. Use caution crossing the street and help others to do so. Don't block pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the sidewalk. Avoid physical confrontations.
What to bring: As usual bring your signs, water, sun protection, chairs, friends-
and in addition something non perishable for the food banks.
Suggested items include canned tuna, canned meats, canned or dry beans, oatmeal, dried fruit, rice, pasta--but anything with extended shelf life is great!
(We will have information on how to contribute money too.)
